Healthcare sharing works differently: members voluntarily participate by making monthly contributions that help share eligible medical bills among members. Members may benefit from potentially lower monthly costs, more flexibility, and a community built around shared responsibility rather than profit.
In many cases, yes. WeShare Health's PPO network includes more than 1 million doctors and specialists nationwide, so there's a strong chance your current provider already participates. When scheduling your appointment, provide your WeShare member ID and ask the provider to confirm that they participate in the PHCS PPO Network. If they have questions, please direct your provider to call Member Care at 800-900-8476.
WeShare Health is designed for individuals and families who are willing to maintain a proactive, healthy lifestyle and who agree with WeShare Health's community guidelines and shared values. Eligibility also depends on the state you live in and the specific program you're applying for. Residents of Alaska, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Montana, North Dakota or Washington are not eligible.
You can apply to join WeShare Health at any time — there's no restricted open-enrollment window like there is with ACA marketplace plans. This flexibility is one of the reasons healthcare sharing appeals to people between jobs or those who missed a traditional enrollment deadline.

Because WeShare Health is a non-profit built to serve members rather than maximize profit, and because membership includes a screening and guidelines process, the community can offer meaningfully lower monthly costs than many traditional insurance or ACA plans — while still providing access to a large national provider network.
WeShare Health doesn't use the term "deductible" the way insurance does, but most programs include an Annual Member Care Share (AMCS) — the amount a household is responsible for before eligible medical needs become eligible for sharing with the community, similar in concept to a deductible.
You show your WeShare Health member ID at an in-network provider, pay any applicable consult fee, and the provider submits the bill to WeShare Health. Our team reviews the bill for eligibility against your program guidelines, and eligible costs above your Annual Member Care Share (AMCS) are submitted for sharing with the community.
Yes. WeShare Health members (excluding WeShare Senior members) have access to pre-negotiated prescription pricing through the CVS Caremark network, which includes major retailers such as CVS, Costco, Target, Walgreens, and Walmart, at over 65,000 pharmacies nationwide. WeShare Senior provides a discount program through Optum Perks so you can save up to 80% off retail prices. Medications administered by a doctor or hospital, like injections or infusions, are eligible after AMCS.
WeShare Health includes access to telehealth (Amwell), remote mental health support (BetterHelp or Amwell), weight-management resources (Noom), and discounted gym memberships (Active&Fit) — reflecting our belief in supporting whole-person, preventive wellness alongside traditional medical care. Amwell is our virtual care or telehealth provider. They offer primary care, urgent care for common health issues, dermatology, dietician support, lactation consulting, and behavioral health. When you join, you will get information from Amwell to register and how to access care online 24/7.
WeShare Health membership includes access to dental and vision discount programs. Simply present your discount card at a participating provider to receive savings on dental services and eye care. Details about the Dental and Vision programs will be provided in your Welcome package.
In most cases, yes — having a pre-existing condition doesn't automatically disqualify you from membership. WeShare Premier and Senior have no waiting period for healthcare related to pre-existing conditions. For WeShare Essential and Enhanced, pre-existing conditions may be eligible for sharing, but limitations apply.
