What Happens After Joining WeShare Health

What Happens After Joining WeShare Health

Though it's not a new method of accessing healthcare, you may be unsure about what you can expect from your experience with health sharing. Preparing between the moment you enroll and the moment you actually use your benefits will set you up for successful health sharing, bringing better care to you and your family as quickly as possible.

Week One: Welcome and Setup

Once your application is approved and you've selected your effective date, you'll receive a welcome packet with your Member ID and onboarding instructions for the WeShare app. This is also when Amwell and BetterHelp will send their registration instructions, so it's worth setting that up right away---it takes just a few minutes and gives you 24/7 access to virtual care from day one.

Understanding Your Monthly Contribution

Each month, your Monthly Contribution Amount (MCA) is collected and pooled with other Members' contributions to help cover eligible medical bills across the community. You'll receive a summary each month showing how contributions were used and any updates happening around WeShare Health. As an added bonus, when you sign up for direct ACH payments for your MCA, you'll receive a points in our Rewards platform to redeem on gift cards, merch, and more.

Your First Visit

When you need care, present your Member ID at a participating provider, pay any applicable consult fee, and let your provider's office submit the bill directly to WeShare Health. From there, our team manages the review and sharing process, meaning you're not stuck negotiating or waiting on reimbursement paperwork. After our team reviews your bill, we'll send you an Explanation of Share (EOS) that outlines costs, what's eligible for sharing, and what you're personally responsible for.

Whether you've already enrolled or you're preparing to join, understanding what happens after joining WeShare Health can bring real peace of mind. You're part of a community committed to caring for one anotherthrough clear guidelines, accessible care options, and responsive Member support.

Have questions about what to expect after enrollment? Member Services is available at members@wesharehealth.org to walk new Members through every step.
